Open positions

Applications are invited for the following positions:

Doctoral Position (salary scale TV-L 13, 75%), Theory of semiconductor spin physics and spin qubits

Applications are invited for a

Doctoral Position (Salery Scale TV-L 13 / 75%)

in Condensed Matter Theory and Quantum Information Group in the Physics Department of the University of Konstanz. The start will be 1 August 2024 or later (by agreement) and the position is available up to 4 years.

The doctoral researcher will investigate the physics of spin qubits, high-fidelity gate operations, and error mitigation with spin qubits. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative and interdisciplinary research in collaboration between the Burkard and Zilberberg research groups as part of NCCR Spin (https://www.nccr-spin.ch/).

Applications and informal inquiries may be addressed to Prof. Dr. Guido Burkard via E-Mail.

We are looking forward to receiving your application until 31 July 2024, but later applications can be considered.

Doctoral Position (salary scale TV-L 13, 75%), Physical modelling and simulation - Spin shuttling

Applications are invited for a

Doctoral Position (Salery Scale TV-L 13 / 75%)

in Condensed Matter Theory and Quantum Information Group in the Physics Department of the University of Konstanz. The start will be 1 October 2024 or later (by agreement) and the position is available up to 2,5 years (with intended extension).

The doctoral researcher will theoretically investigate in modelling spin shuttlers and shuttling gates, using effective Hamiltonians parametrized on experimental data and physical models of qubits. The role of valley, spin-orbit and hyperfine physics will be addressed as well as the fidelity in the presence of noise.

The position is part of the research program QLSI 2 within the quantum technology flagship initiative funded by the European Commission.

Applications and informal inquiries may be addressed to Prof. Dr. Guido Burkard via E-Mail.

We are looking forward to receiving your application until 31 August 2024, but later applications can be considered.
